How To Make Greek Lamb Meatballs

Greek lamb meatballs are perfect for making ahead and storing in your freezer for quick meals on busy nights. They are simple to make, delicious, and the perfect thing to add a little variety to your meals.

After finding out that my daughter had multiple food sensitivities, I had to start looking for alternatives to incorporate into our diet. That’s when I started adding lamb into our meal rotation. I’ll be honest, initially I had no clue how to prepare it. Over time though, we have learned how to prepare it and our favorite ways to eat it.

Making greek lamb meatballs is one of my favorite ways to incorporate lamb into our meals because they can be made ahead and frozen which makes meal prep time go much faster. These days I am all about fast and easy meals but I still want our meals to be homemade and nutritious. That’s why greek lamb meatballs work so well because they can be used to accomplish all of those things.

If you haven’t tried making lamb meatballs yet to help prep your freezer for busy nights, I highly recommend trying them. You’ll be happy that you did!

Enjoy!

Can Lamb Meatballs Be Frozen?

Lamb meatballs can easily be frozen to use for quick and easy meals. After baking, let the meatballs cool in the fridge. To avoid sticking, it is best to place the cooled, cooked meatballs on a parchment lined baking sheet so that they are not touching. Add the baking sheet to the freezer for about an hour. Then place the meatballs in a freezer bag or other container for long term freezer storage.

When short on time, you can transfer the cooled meatballs directly from the fridge to a freezer bag for longer term storage. However, it is likely that some of the meatballs will stick together until reheated. I prefer freezing my meatballs this way to simply save on time. I just portion out the meatballs by meals in separate bags so it doesn’t matter if they stick together.

To serve, place the frozen meatballs in a 250 degree oven to heat for 15 minutes or until warmed all the way through.

Meatballs can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
