Hi! I’m Jessica.

I’m a wife and a mom.

I have been married to my husband Nick for 19 years. We have two kids that keep us busy, make us laugh, and make us proud. Through it all, we know we are so blessed to be able to share our life with them.

I’m a former teacher turned stay at home mom. I’m also a self proclaimed savings nerd, gardener, and a healthy and simple living enthusiast. 

On most days you can find me in my kitchen, garden, or doing as my brother would say, ”Some Laura Ingalls thing”. I also can often be found “figurin” which is what we like to call my obsession of crunching numbers, making savings a game, and running my household like it’s a fortune 500 company and I’m the proud CFO. 

Here at Bread and Bucks I like to share all about simple, healthy living on a budget. I’m a firm believer that when we take steps to remove stressors from our lives, slow down just a bit, and feed our bodies healthy, wholesome, homemade meals, we can enjoy life more and feel amazing too! 

I started Bread and Bucks to help other moms create a better life for themselves and their families. Whether it is a recipe to help feed your family, encouragement for you to  create more freedom in your life through intentional financial choices, or using that freedom to slow down and appreciate the small things in life, I hope you can find something here that helps make your life just a little sweeter.
